An entrepreneur is someone who is motivated to pave their own path to riches.
He or she is someone who is driven in the heart by a desire to achieve success on his/her own terms.
Consistently trying out new things and ways to do business that will make him/her money.
It’s so rewarding to see money being made through your unique approach to life.
And when they figure it out they are set for their life.
I have always wanted to learn to design my own social media promos for my blog posts.
But firing Illustrator or Photoshop to do the grunt work of creating interesting promo banners was difficult.
I wanted to do it, but design is not my core skill. And, I dread doing it.
I want to put my writing out there but sitting for an hour designing a banner for the text I wrote demanded a completely different attention span.
It’s not that I can’t do it, I am not the best but I can create a fairly good-looking promo. It’s just that I lacked the motivation to dedicate an extra 1 hour just for it.
A few years ago, one day I was just going by the day. I received an email from my past client asking me to create a banner for an article that he has written for his website. And he offered $10 for the design.
I didn’t think a second and immediately fired up Canva and designed a decent enough banner for his post within just 15 minutes. That was oddly satisfying and I felt accomplished.
The pay wasn’t much.
But I was happy that day to create the design for my client.
And one thing struck me after I received the payment for the design.
You are motivated when others want to see you work or pay for your skills.
Having intrinsic motivation isn’t always possible.
But when someone asks for your work, you’re externally seeing some form of validation that you are capable and worthy of someone’s attention and can trade money.
Some people are motivated by money.
And some just by attention.
But whatever it is, if you know someone who’s on their entrepreneurial journey ask them for a favor often. This is how you care for them. This is how you ignite motivation for them. This is how you get them working.
If you can offer them monetary incentives.
If not, simply asking them for small help will be enough.
If someone in your circle is good at making TikTok, ask them to create TikTok for you.
If someone you want to succeed in making a YouTube channel offer them some money to create a captivating video for you.
If someone you like loves writing, comment on their posts and ask for more of their writing, heck even suggest topics you want them to write about.
I can go on and on…
The point I’m trying to make is in a family setting, in a friends circle, in business if you want to see someone work on their craft more try to create small opportunities here and there to help them set to work.
That way, you are setting up a substantial base for them to succeed in their journey.
That’s all for today.
See ya.
